Born in Saint Michael Barbados in 1988, Robyn Riahha Fenty came to the US and started her career as a singer at age 16. In 2005, Robyn released her first album “Music of the Sun” with an artist name ‘Rihanna’ (pronounced without “h”). Rihanna released an array of hit songs including “Umbrella,” “Disturbia,” “Take a Bow,” “Diamonds” and “We Found Love” in the following years.

Rihanna became one of the most famous pop singers around the world.

Rihanna’s notable milestones as a pop singer included her collaboration with world-class icons Jay-Z’s “Run this Town,” Eminem’s “Love the Way You Lie,” Maroon 5’s “If I Never See Your Face Again” and Kanye West’s “All of the Lights.” Yet, the young, talented, ambitious girl succeed in the realm beyond music.

About the name “Fenty”

In June 2013, Rihanna trademarked her surname, Fenty, for use on an array of products. “Fenty Beauty” was among these new trademarks. Fenty Beauty (stylized as FEИTY BEAUTY) is a cosmetics brand that was launched on September 8, 2017 by Rihanna. Only four years later, the cosmetics company reported a revenue of US$5 billion in 2021. The company is co-owned by Rihanna and the retail mogul Bernard Arnault. And Fenty Beauty’s Creative Director is Jahleel Weaver.
